#97: The Little Hours – 2017

A bizarre medieval comedy, The Little Hours is absurd, surreal, and wildly entertaining. Described as “Pure Trash” by the Catholic League, the film follows a convent of nuns in the Middle Ages as they deal with the temptations of an attractive new groundskeeper and combatting the dark forces of witchcraft around them. I can see this film definitely being an acquired taste, but you can’t argue with the incredibly talented cast (a particularly great Kate Micucci) and the refreshingly original satire on the Dark Ages.
